FIREFIGHTERS LAUNCH PINK SHIRT CAMPAIGN FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS AND PREVENTION
(Palm Bay)—The Palm Bay Firefighters Community Benevolent announces its 2nd annual pink shirt campaign in support of breast cancer awareness month which begins October 1st. The campaign seeks to raise money through the sale of pink t-shirts sporting the Palm Bay Firefighters Community Benevolent logo on the front and the firefighter symbol on the back circled by the names of two local organizations benefiting from the funds raised. The Cancer Care Foundation of Brevard and the United Order True Sisters Chapter 66 will split the profits from the sale of the shirts and sweatshirts. Both organizations provide support to local cancer patients and their families along with free mammograms and other cancer screenings as a form of prevention. “All the money raised from this year’s campaign stays local,” said Palm Bay Councilmember Michele Paccione who is serving as the spokesperson for the fundraising campaign. “It’s all about early detection and saving lives and partnering with these organizations helps us do that.”
The Cancer Care Foundation of Brevard
